Routine or activity that helps reduce agitation in the evenings

Our doctor advised us to keep to a routine and turn off TV in the evening but it doesn’t help my dad. He does what he likes, when he likes it and takes as much time as he wants. If he insists to switch on the TV late at night, we have to turn it on and it has to be loud for him. How do you manage? It’s been exhausting, we struggle to get rest at night. Anything works for you?
