Examples of Situations You may need a House Call

Doctor house calls are for non-emergency health situations when the person has difficulty getting to a clinic. For example, when one is:

• Vomiting and too weak to visit a clinic
• Dehydrated and has a loss of appetite
• Experiencing dizziness, severe migraines, or unable to stand or walk after a fall
• A senior with dementia who is agitated and frightened in unfamiliar place like a clinic or hospital
• Bedbound and recently discharged from the hospital, or dependent on medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, catheters or feeding tubes.
• Immunocompromised due to certain medical treatments
• Requiring death certification for a loved one

All our home care doctors are registered with the Singapore Medical Council, trained in Family Medicine and experienced in medical care in home settings.

You can also state your preference for a female or male doctor and we try our best to accommodate.

When to go to the Emergency Department instead

If you or your loved one is experiencing a medical emergency, please go to the nearest A&E or call 995 for an ambulance. Doctor home visits are only for non-emergency medical conditions. 

Examples of emergency conditions include, but are not limited to:

• Symptoms of heart attack, such as chest pain, shortness of breath.
• Acute exacerbation of asthma or COPD
• Low oxygen levels
• Symptoms of stroke, such as one-sided facial weakness, limb weakness or numbness, speech abnormalities.
• Head injuries, especially when accompanied by scalp lacerations, drowsiness, vomiting, bleeding from the ears/nose/mouth, or confusion.
• Severe abdominal pain
• Acute severe back pain
• Seizures
• Severe allergic reactions
• Large wounds, deep cuts or wounds with profuse bleeding
• Joint dislocations or fractures
• Foreign bodies such as a fishbone in the throat
• Severe burns

How to Book a Doctor's House Call with Us

If you are enquiring us for the first time, here is how it works:

1. Call or WhatsApp us.
2. Describe the patient’s current and chronic medical conditions, as well as details like age, location, etc. Our team may ask for more information, depending on the medical situation.
3. Our team will check for the doctor’s availability and update you at the soonest available time.
4. To confirm the appointment, patient registration and pre-payment is required.
5. After the appointment is confirmed, the doctor will go in at the advised time. Cancellation fees will apply for last-minute cancellations up to 3 hours before the appointment time.
6. During the visit, lab tests, medications, and procedures may be ordered and/or carried out with the family’s consent, at a separate fee. This fee will be billed after the visit.
7. If lab tests are ordered, the samples will be sent to the lab. If prescribed medications need to be dispatched, we will arrange for same-day courier.
8. Post-visit follow-up: The doctor will advise you accordingly after your lab results are out, and/or check-in with you after medication. Teleconsultations can be arranged for extensive follow-up.
