When is an acceptable time to move your parents with dementia to a care home? My family is so divided about this… Can someone who has gone through this share their views and experience?

@animee I'm so sorry. This is a really tough and emotional choice. When safety, health, or caregiving needs become too much to handle at home, even with help, it's a good sign that it might be time. There is no perfect time; there is only the time when their health and everyone's ability to handle things needs extra help.

This is a really tough decision, and it’s very common for families to feel divided about it. There isn’t usually one clear “right” time, but it often comes down to when staying at home is no longer safe or manageable, even with support. Many people end up waiting until there’s a crisis, but moving a bit earlier can make the transition easier. It’s also important to consider the wellbeing of the person caring for them, not just the parent.

I've also read a post that kind of connect to this. I'll link it below.
